c5lover Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Hi,I will soon move to London, I own now C5 and would like to have same car here (won't bring mine for obvious reasons....).Sadly, it means I will need to buy a old car, and I don't know prices here, could you please share how much I can pay for typical repairs in good garage? For example:- timing belt replacement- brake disks and pads (in Switzerland its 1000GBP o_0)- parking sensor- suspension pump- any other costs are more then welcome! Anwser would help me choose between C5 MK2 or Peugeot 508 (I somehow like it more then new C5). PS:As a bonus, photos of my beloved, continental C5 (we will really missed it!): http://www.englishforum.ch/2554231-post1.html Quote
paul.h Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 If you use a Citroen dealer you can look on their website and under servicing is a list of fixed price repairs. If you choose a London dealer it may cost more than one elsewhere since the labour charge per hour may be more. If you live outside London you may get a home with a drive so you could do your own maintenance and then only need to pay for parts. To get an idea of the cost of a replacement car you could look at the Autotrader website and if you want a Citroen you could also look on the company website. Going by the cost you have given for brake discs/pads in Switzerland, you will find UK costs are a lot lower. Examples from our local Citroen dealer's website but others have the same priceshttp://www.bentleysmotorswarrington.citroen.co.uk/after-sales/servicing-and-repairs/service-and-Repair/http://www.bentleysmotorswarrington.citroen.co.uk/offers/owners/all/fixed-price-repairs-from-27/?newsId=1155577 Suspension pumps do not fail much and probably most people would fit a used part and if you look on ebay you can get an idea of the cost of one.
