If i lock the car then door wont open from outside but once i have opened it from inside then it opens alnost every time from the outside until again i lock the car then back to opening from inside. I pulled the door card off stripped cant see much wrong so i pulled the lever thats connected tothe outer door handle and doing that from inside the door opens its almost like it isnt pulling the bar far enough wjen using outer handle. Any ideas nuchly appreciated. I have a citroen c5 2002 hdi. Thanks Quote
paul.h Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Welcome to the forum. This is from the Common Problems pinned topic:14. Rear door will not open from the inside and outside. This has not happened to our C5s but it is a common problem. To fix: remove the door card, it is awkward with the door shut but can be doneonce removed, follow the rod to the door lock and remove the white plastic covernow try to look into the door and you will see the insides of the lockuse a screwdriver and push the lever down on the inside of the lock and the door will openreplace the lock with a different one. pcjohn1981 Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 Hi. Its all stripped door card off but will look at whst u said in the morning. The thing is mine does open from.inside and once opened then it will open from outside but once locked i habe to open from inside first again. Cheers Quote
paul.h Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Possibly your lock is in the early stages of failing and not opening at all may happen later. Quote
MikeLane Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Somewhere there must be a solenoid (or actuator) which unlocks the door when you use the key or push the fob button. This may be sticking so try spraying it with WD40 to free it up. Quote
Duxass Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Hi - Very new to this forum only been a member for 1 week so hello all.I am getting the same problem very intermittently but as I only took delivery of the car (C3 Picasso) a week ago, I will be paying a visit to the dealer to sort it out and will then post whatever they decide was the problem or what they tell me was wrong anyway. Duxass Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 HiFurther to my post of 1st April. I have now had the main dealer look at the lock in question but they could not find any visible fault so they have no replaced the entire lock for that door (thankfully under the warranty). They only took 50 minutes to make the replacement so it cant be that difficult I suppose.CheersDuxass Quote
