Weeksie Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Hi, my engine management light came on last week but the car was working fine, then this weekend it started cutting out when I was driving. I bought a new coil pack and put it on today but the car won't even fire up now (even though the engine management light has now turned off) - it just turns over. I can't hear the injectors like I normal do when I turn the key either. It's almost as though the imobiliser is stuck on - anyone have any ideas as to what it could be? Quote
paul.h Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 The only way you will find the fault without buying lots of unnecessary parts will be to read the fault code with a code reader from when the eml came on. Possibilities could be the crankshaft sensor, cam shaft sensor, injector failure (common on the 1.4 petrol 75 bhp engine - but I do not know which engine or year your car is) and others. What made you think the coil pack was faulty ? When these are replaced it is wise to also replace the spark plugs since it these are not right they can affect the coil pack. Quote
