rpsamme Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 (edited) Does anyone know how to stop the mirrors automatically folding in when the car is locked? They didnt used to but I have messed on with something, now they do. The passenger side isnt working properly and is just making a clicking noise, and I would rather just keep them out if I can. Thanks Richard Edited April 20, 2016 by rpsamme Quote
paul.h Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Some times things like this can be set through the radio menu. You could also try the passenger one closing by hand and then back again just in case it has been pushed forward and just needs a bit of help to get working again - we had this on a C4 where the mirror had been pushed forward by somebody. Hydrac Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Hi, Am assuming your vehicle is an sx and it should be possible for you to disable the auto foldback function by using button 1 on the mirror adjustment switchpad. Button 1 is the slide switch at the front of the pad used to select the mirror side to be adjusted. Place the switch in the central position and with the ignition on momentarily press the switch forward ( The manual says press to the rear but on my cars it's to the front ) the mirrors should foldback or unfold,A long press on button 1 should disable autofoldback. . In most versions of the owners manual this is covered under rear view mirrors pages 65 - 67.. Hope this helps Quote
paul.h Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Welcome to the forum. In our C5 handbook dated 10/2006 on the back, under rear view mirrors on page 24 it says: Note: Automatic foldback of the rear view mirrors can be deactivated. Consult a Citroen Dealer. So if all the dealer does is a long press on button 1 then this ought to be in the handbook. Quote
Hydrac Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Hello Paul, Thank you for your welcome, I've long been a reader of this forum and should have joined long before this. You are quite correct in that the later C5 which has the revised body shape and interior does require dealer action to effect this change, the mkii differs in many ways from the mki and this is one of those differences, one has to wonder why the factory would change what is for some owners a very useful feature. My reply was for a 2003 mki sx ( a point which I should have clarified ) which definitely does have this feature as owner adjustable, I did try it again on my cars just to confirm this prior to replying to rpsamme, I've not tried to change the mirror foldback on my 2006 car but will hookpup my Lexia to check this. Hope this assists . Quote
