Johndouglas Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Over the weekend daughters and I popped over to Calais for the day. We parked close to the pier and before long another Citroen pulled in and parked a few bays away from us. It was a beautifully kept Citroen Traction Avant of around 1955. Before 1954 Traction Avants had a flat boot lid with the shape of the spare wheel in them. After '54 they were given the larger boot and yet by 1956 had finished production, so this old lady is around 62 years old. In their early days Citroen was one of the leading companies for innovative ideas and the Avant was one of the first production line cars to be fitted with front wheel drive and as a unibody car. MikeLane Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Dutch registered? I think there areĀ more 2CVs in Holland (when they're not holidaying in France) than owned by the French! Quote
MikeLane Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 But Citroen replaced it with the DS! (Talk about innovation!) Quote
