mickrochip Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 hello folks can any one help me , how do i remove the complete dash from my car, facelift model 2.0l 16v 1366 vtr.i am looking for a heater resistor for my blower which stopped working before christmas ,it is not in the usual places as i have been informed beforemy car has got dual climate control & air conditioning , maybe a stupid question , but if the air conditioning pressure was low would the blower work
paul.h Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Before I would consider removing the dash I would be at a dealer getting them to find the problem with a diagnostic. According to the Haynes manual there is a lot to do to remove the dash including removing the steering wheel and air bag, central console, wiper motor, radio and surrounds - far more than can be put on here in a couple of minutes. Removal and refitting is about a 4 hour job at a dealer.
cthawes Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 (edited) if you have a right hand drive car the resistor is on the drivers side just above the foot rest if you have climate control it has 2 green plugs on it with thick wires Edited May 28, 2016 by cthawes
mickrochip Posted June 1, 2016 Author Posted June 1, 2016 Hello there Sorry to be so long in getting back to forum, Iwat to thank everyone that has replied to my query, i have found out that the resistor is built into my motor so i would have to replace the whole motor. the prob. now is that the a/c system is that the sensors to make it work are now showing faults which is stopping my motor working , again thank for all your knowdledge, til we meet again
paul.h Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Possibly the air con has a refrigerant leak due to lack of use and the seals drying out whilst the blower has not worked. If this is the case then it could be expensive to get it working again since the seals may need replacing and possibly the compressor and dryer. You might want to just get the blower working and forget about the air con but if you want to try to get the air con refrigerant recharged the blower would need to be working so the garage doing the work can make sure the air con is working.
