nzjrc Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Hi, (Citroen Xsara Picasso 2002 2.0ltr diesel) A few weeks ago my wipers stopped working on the middle speed but then came right and worked ok. Yesterday I went out in the rain, stopped the car, turned it off and the wipers kept going! They go on middle and fast speed but not intermittent. I am now having (after much searching) to pull out the fuse to turn them off and put it back in if it rains. We have checked and sprayed all the relays we can find and the fuse is obviously ok. Any ideas? Thanks! Quote
paul.h Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Welcome to the forum. It could be the wiper motor at fault. Years ago BL car wiper motors used to have an internal switch that parked the wipers in the correct place but these would wear and the wipers would not stop. I would think there is something similar in the Citroen ones. We had a C3 rear wiper that would not stop and changing the wiper motor fixed it. Quote
nzjrc Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 Thanks Paul, will look into it. I thought that was what it was at first but was told it was probably a relay or the steering wheel wiper stalk. Don't want to replace all the parts for nothing!! Quote
nzjrc Posted May 27, 2016 Author Posted May 27, 2016 Update: Fixed up a temporary switch to manually turn the wipers on and off, as I was going away and didn't have time to sort it properly. Was raining on the way so the wipers were on and after quite a few miles they started working on their own again from the stalk and all three speeds. Still all working fine so will have to see how it goes!! Quote
