easymove Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 My 2.0 diesel automatic has gone into limp mode,it runs up to about 1500 revs ok, the asr/ebs light has come on along with the snow and sport light, I have plugged in a code reader ant the faults showing are P1727, P1605 and U1208. I have noticed that when the engine is switched off the left hand side intercooler (looking from front) is sucked in flat under vacum, can somebody please give me any advise thanks Steve. Quote
paul.h Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 What year is your car and how many miles has it done ? A google search suggests you have a problem with communications from the AM6 gearbox to the ecu. if the codes are cleared do they come back again ? Maybe there is a bad wiring connection that needs cleaning up or a broken wire. From here the codes give http://c4owners.org/C4_Error_Codes.php P1605 Engine torque required by the driver information not received by the CAN fault (Engine ECU) : Not characterisedP1727 Fault on the actual engine torque information not received by the CAN (Engine ECU) : Not characterisedU1208 Fault in the information transmitted by the engine ECU : Value received incorrect As for the hose that is sucking in, maybe it needs replacing if it has gone soft and also possibly the air filter is blocked and needs replacing. You could also check for any restrictions in the air inlet piping and if the intercooler is full of oil from a worn turbo. Quote
paul.h Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 From your other topic your car is a 2010 C5 tourer and in January 2016 was on 105k miles. I have put this info as your signature. Did the problem of the jumped timing belt get sorted and what was needed ? Did the gearbox problem start after this work was done, just thinking maybe a connector was not put back or the wiring may have been damaged. Quote

HI, thanks for the reply, the bent crankshaft could not be fixed, still to this day I do not know what caused it, the first diesel specialist found it but were charging the earth for every thing they did and when they found it. so I found A1 engines in rainham Essex, who gave me a price to rebuild it, but once they had it the bill got bigger and the outcome was a second hand engine was fitted out of a peugot. they did not know the mileage or did not take note of the engine number....very few new parts were fitted and several faults were found on arrival home. since January the car has been parked up in my garage, I took it round the block last weekend and it went into limp mode and the faults have shown up on a code reader,. I have since removed the fuse box in the engine bay looking for any bad wiring, replaced it , cleared the faults on the code reader, but as soon as the engine is started, again the engine service light comes on along with the esr/abs light the snow and sports light and the dash information panel says gearbox fault....I am going to check and clean the intercooler today and search for a wiring diagram so I can trace the wires that go to the gearbox...that's the story so far, I shall keep everyone informed of the outcome thanks steve Quote
