mikeparkins Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Hi All, Any day now I will hand back my C4. For three years I have had absolute reliability with this car, it's never been any trouble. On the motorway it is a lovely, comfortable cruiser, eating up the miles and with the flexibility of the torque available not much work required with the manual gearbox. To give it the correct title it is a: Citroen C4 hdi 115hp 6 speed manual Exclusive.I have had 58 mpg down to 40 mpg on a mix of 1/3 motorway to 2/3 round town. When I leased the diesel I had in mind doing much more motorway driving but my condition got the better of me. This is one very under minded car, it's a family cruiser and a pleasure to drive, it may have jittery back wheels round poor surface corners but I have always felt in control of this car and always looked forward to driving it.Well done Citroen C4 I hope the next owner gets as much fun and pleasure driving it. paul.h Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 The C4 is a good car, we have had a 2008, a 2011 and now a 2015, all 1.6 hdi and had no bother with any of them. Quote
mikeparkins Posted July 5, 2016 Author Posted July 5, 2016 Hi,I am replacing it with a DS 3 165 thp ultra prestige. I was considering the Cactus but must admit that I find reversing very difficult when in tight places. Also my wife finds the C4 a bit to large to handle.I am hoping the DS 3 ,with reversing camera, and less width will be easier for us both.I haven't explained the extra hp to my wife, but felt the torque, being only 24 lbs ft or so less should mean good flexibility for a petrol engine.Any latest comments on the DS 3 165 would be of interest.
