Chris49 Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Hi There, I have a (second hand) 2012 C5 and need to replace a lost key. My local dealer has quoted £97 for a replacement key+remote fob, and ~£100 to program it. They say they need to obtain the code(s) for my vehicle from Citroen and that the programming process takes about an hour. My questions are;a) Are the codes part of the data belonging to the car which I should/am entitled to/ have? If so, where could I get them from? (I'm not aware that I have them)b) If I had the codes, could I get a new fob reliably programmed independently of Citroen?c) There seem to be various companies that can provide new keys and program them. Are any known to be OK?d) Is the re-programming process really as involved as the dealer suggests? Any other comments? I would guess that losing keys and needing to replace them is a fairly regular occurrence. Is there a favoured route other than going to a Citroen dealer? Cheers, Chris Quote

coastline taxis Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 If you got any paperwork with the car ty checking that . key code will be on what looks like a credit card and you scratch it of to show a 4 digit code. you could but a lexia diagnostic and do it yourself for around £80 Quote
