pjbw Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Re Berlingo Multispace VTR Diesel. 2014 My quick CV: Over a million miles, 10 years motor racing. 17 years fleet engineer and transport manager. 20 reps' cars, 15 trucks. After retirement a small Berlingo; 10 years, 144,000 miles, completely fault free, quiet, comfortable, exact neutral steer - what a car!, hence its successor. The suspension on my VTR Berlingo has become very noisy: rattles and clunks everywhere. Original dealer and another garage can both hear the noises but up on their hoists can't find anything wrong.I remember submitting my previous Berlingo for its MOT tests where one test involves shaking the car violently. Unfortunately they would not do that with this 2 year old Berlingo. Presumably because if it failed they would have to declare it illegal with all that that would entail.I read somewhere that that the VTR's completely rigid rear suspension (my 'semi deformable beam' no longer deforms) would put huge strains on the rear and front suspensions. Not only very uncomfortable but lifting a front wheel off the road at any sort of speed on corners or on uneven roads.I am reluctant to trade-in (scrap) the car because of its quite superb engine. Is it possible to have the complete rear suspension replaced - any suggestions? paul.h Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Welcome to the forum. A look at the Citroen parts diagrams may help you see what could be wrong. Register on service.citroen as an other professional non emergency services and as a member of the Citroen Owners Club http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres You may need to select your language first. Once on the site use your VIN (VIS) top left to find your car. Also have a look at this topic but it may not be relevant http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23612-rear-axle-problem/ There is also a Berlingo forum elsewhere on the internet that may be worth a look.
