sim1975 Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Can anyone recommend a decent oil for an 2004 2.0HDI dispatch with almost 170k, Cheers Simon Quote
paul.h Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 The Maintenance and Warranty guide with the service stamps gives the oil recommended by Citroen. This sometimes changes over the years but in the 2006 guide with our C5 it gives a few choices depending on if you have an exhaust dpf: - Total quartz 7000 10w-40 - I do not think this is a full synthetic so might need oil changes more often than a full synthetic.- Total quartz 9000 5w-40- Total quartz INEO ECS 5w-30 - this is a low ash one recommended if you have a dpf. A dealer sells these but they are cheaper over the internet and are often lower priced than well known oils such as Mobil/Shell. Quote

yellabell Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Hi - new to this forum. Sorry to jump in on this post but I can't find any manuals anywhere for my T reg 1.9 non turbo diesel.I just want to do my own simple oil & filter change. I can buy 5l of semi synth & filter for about £20. Dont want to pay a garage for the pleasure. Any links to manuals please? Quote
paul.h Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Welcome to the forum. You can get Citroen's workshop procedures through ebay to put on your computer, it is called Citroen service box and includes parts diagrams and wiring diagrams. The earliest date I could quickly see was 1996 so I take it your van is about 1998. As an example http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-Service-Box-1-2014-TIS-EPC-WDS-/381321373493 It does not usually tell you how to change the oil in as much detail as a Haynes manual but will give quantities and torque settings.
