C 5 Estate Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 (edited) For some months I have been getting permanent ESP/ASR System Faulty symbol on the dash board (a yellow triangle above the temperature gauge) I dug out my DELPHI and it points to @C1310 Accelorometer turn meter sensor signal internal" Is this the silver coloured lump beneath the ash tray at the rear of the central console? The ride may have been a bit less taught but this may me my imagination. Recently the back end is dropping overnight and I wondered if the two are related in some way My motor is a face lift C5 2006 2 litre deisel Estate with 126126 on the clock. All suggestions will be very gratefully received. Tim Edited February 13, 2017 by C 5 Estate Quote
citrophile Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 Yes, that is the accelerometer and does throw an error if its defective.Last time I checked (2 years ago when I changed my wife's) a new one was £400....!!!!They are quite common across a number of PSA cars, just google the part number. My wife had a C3 and it was the same as the one I took out of my scrapped C5 so £400 saved :) Quote
paul.h Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 One of the rear struts may be leaking causing the back end to drop. Quote
C 5 Estate Posted February 19, 2017 Author Posted February 19, 2017 Have been of air and just logged on and noted your replies. When the sunny weather comes to Preston I will put the motor up on axle stands and have a look at the struts. The discs/pads need attention this year so I may make a Summer project of these tasks. Thanks Tim Quote

C 5 Estate Posted September 30, 2017 Author Posted September 30, 2017 Have just got the motor through its MOT, as recommended I changed the acceloratermeter which fixed the yellow triangle light problem. Fortunately the overnight dropping of the rear suspension stopped happening a few days after my previous post and pleased to say the Garage were happy with the suspension. Thanks for your advice.
