Rich_Eason Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 To get to the point, today I have had a bad day, which all started with the VTS getting a pucture in the middle of this mornings rush hour. Any hoo Have just managed to get the puncture repaired and was talking to the chap who "reckons" that when they replace the tyres on Renaults fitted with pressure sensors they blast up the pressure to 70PSI ( :o ) and then drop it down to the recommended pressure. In doing so it is supposed to reset the sensor and thus not require a dealer reset. I asked him not to do this on mine however as I didnt want to make my day go any worse than it already had gone and see the Revolsen wheel shatter into a trillion bits as well as the tyre. Neadless to say it doesnt need the dealer reset anyway! However hands up to the pressure sensors as they certainly did their job. Quote
wozza Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 You would need a hell of a lot more pressure to do any damage to either tyre or wheel than 70psi. Quote
C4VTS Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 You would need a hell of a lot more pressure to do any damage to either tyre or wheel than 70psi. Absolutely !! 70PSI is only a little more than bicycle tyres pressure. :o Quote
ham's c4vts Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 sounds like hes talkin out of his bum :o Quote
DickieG Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 70PSI is only a little more than bicycle tyres pressure. :o70 psi on my bike would feel like a flat tyre :o it runs on 125psi :D Quote
C4VTS Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 70 psi on my bike would feel like a flat tyre :o it runs on 125psi :DWell according to Rich's theory your bike and tyre should have disintegrated by now. :o Quote
Stuey Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 right then question of the day...why do car tyres only run at 45PSI when pushbike tyres are normally around 130PSi region?? its probably really simple but my head wont compute it  Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 10, 2006 Author Posted November 10, 2006 To clarify! When I said about the wheel going bang I was actually talking tounge in cheek! Oh blige i bet you all think I'm a right nugget now! Quote

Johndouglas Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Must be missing something here. My bike tyres are moulded with "Inflate to 40PSI" Quote
Mat Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Must be missing something here. My bike tyres are moulded with "Inflate to 40PSI" Ditto. And my pump is so rubbish, i never get them much above 30 anyway Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 Just seems like the last few days there has always something been wrong with the VTS! First the tyre...ok it happens and no way of knowing that the drylining screw was sat in the road waiting with my name on it.... Second: Wound down the passenger window to pass out my car pass to security guard and spent the next 15 miles trying to get it to go back up properly. As it went up and sat in the window seal it would then retract back - anti pinch. I eventually got it to stay up but was wistling wind like Roger Witicker. Eventually got it to seat properly. Third: Yesterday the driver seat raise and lower lever came off. Does anyone else find that the seat belt gets caught/wrapped around this? Fourth: My Passenger door speaker is rattling like it has washers sitting on top of the cone. Its definatly not the speaker itself as pushing the panel stops the vibration but is anoying. The panel even sometimes resonates when the radio is off... There is an upside however! :D Driving again into Bath on Friday morning the traffic was really bad (as usual) sat in the queue of traffic there was a new black Vauxhall Tigra behind. I swear Alex Lovell of BBC Points West and Brainteaser fame ( )was driving. For those who dont know who the flipping hell she is, see here... ;) Link The only problem was the flipping bar across the rear window was blocking my view and couldnt be sure! Certainly made the journey into Bath that much easier to take in.... :D :P Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 When it rains my passenger window will go down but not up. On about the fifth attempt and by the time the interior is satisfactorily saturated it works again. Yes the seatbelt hooks around the seat raising lever on mine too. Quote
Stuey Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Yes the seatbelt hooks around the seat raising lever on mine too. same here. When I went to donnington to the Renault (Rubbish) day there where a couple of air hostess's that have been on Airline (the fly on the wall easyjet programme) which was nice  Quote
