KeithE Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 I've had my 2008 C5 X7 auto for about 9 months now and am reasonably happy with it I don't drive it hard and an getting high 30s to the gallon in mixed town and my commute to work. A few times (actually 3) I've tried to drive it a bit hard, like I'd stolen it and every time it chimes at me, the engine management light comes on and stays on, I get an engine management warning and lose the cruise control. The last time it happened I attempted to accelerate from 70mph on the motorway, the gearbox changed down two gears, which I wasn't expecting, the warnings came up the transmission changed back up, all almost instantly and the car still performed what seemed like normally. If I switch it off and leave it for 45 minutes it fixes itself. I know it probably needs diagnostics but I am hoping someone nway have encountered this before, so that I have an idea where a garage should be looking Thanks in advance for your help. Quote
KeithE Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 I don't think so.The car was serviced not long before I bought it and I've only done about 4000 miles since Quote
paul.h Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 The fuel filter is not replaced every service so you would need to check your records/receipts to see if it was done. Citroen often call the fuel filter a filter pad on the receipts. I think though you will need to use a code reader to see what is wrong. If you buy get one that also does some live data since it will be more useful, as an example http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_FXNT200.html The diagnostic connector is in the front seat centre arm rest cupboard, possibly under a mat.
