Knocking Noise On C2 Vts

Hello people .. newby here .. just bought myself a play toy .. 55 plate vts 75k miles full service history.. absolute fun toy .. only problem I have a knocking ( not engine ) noise from Front.. got told/advised by neighbours son ( who wants to buy it already) probably a link .. which I've changed .. but knocking noise still there.. checked springs seem ok .. before I book it in to get diagnosed any one know of any common faults ... thanks

Yep, the top strut bearings are weak. Stand at the wheel of the car, reach across the top of the tyre an grab the spring, Pull it towards you and push it away from you. If the top bearing is gone you will hear it clunk clunking and see it wobbling about. Do both sides

I had this on a C3, replaced the drop links which were worn out but also on one side the strut top bearing had failed/fallen apart. This occurred whilst the coil spring at that side was replaced. Replacing the bearing needed the strut removing again. The noise was noticed when slowly going over bumps.
