mosehva Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Hi, I'm new here and I've decided to open a new post since I couldn't find an answer to my current issue with the air condition. I have the issue with one side is cooler than the other my C4 is LHD so the passenger side is warmer. This passenger side getting cooler if I disable the internal circulation but it doesn't get cold as the driver side. I've read about the servo that might need to be change or regarding a flap controller but in all of the posts I couldn't find a guide regarding how to check that out. FYI - I've added gas recently. Please help me sort that out. Thanks,Moshe Quote
paul.h Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Welcome to the forum. Do you have climate control with separate control of the temperature for each side ?Is the problem that when using the air con, one side does not get as cold as the other or is it that when not using the air con, both sides do not give the same temperature, warm or cold ? When the garage put in more refrigerant did this make any difference since having too little can cause one side to not cool as much as the other - I found this on our C5 when the air con was on and the amount in the system was only about 10% of a full charge. When setting the heating at max temperature, do both sides get as warm and then when setting to cold with the air con off, do they both get as cold - just to see if the warm air flaps are working ? mosehva Posted May 7, 2017 Author Posted May 7, 2017 Hi, I will check the heat and air con off and will update. When I went for a regular maintenance I told the mechanic about this issue and he told me that he will check it out.The solution he gave me was that he need to fill the air con gas. It was in the winter so when I used it, it felt O.K. The weird thing is that when I use internal circulation both sides fell warm (with air con on and lowest temp) but with external circulation both sides fell cold but the passenger side (LHD) is warmer... paul.h Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 On internal circulation if the air con is not working then the air will not cool down, it can only get warmer. If you do not use a Citroen dealer then you may be better using one since they can do a diagnostic check to see what is wrong, rather than trying things until eventually the fault is fixed. The C5s I had regassed at a Citroen dealer and they were not any more expensive than elsewhere. Quote
mosehva Posted May 14, 2017 Author Posted May 14, 2017 Update, I went to a local aircon garage which have confirm that the internal evaporator cooling coil is leaking gas and must be replaced. The price for such a job is very expensive since he must remove the dashboard in order to get to the evaporator cooling coil. 1. Is there a temp solution for a leaking evaporator cooling coil2. Where can I find a guide for dashboard removal? Thanks,Moshe Quote
paul.h Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 You can get the Citroen workshop procedures through ebay if you buy the Citroen service box dvds. As an example http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/citroen-service-box-1-2014-tis-epcwds/251930181500?hash=item3aa8357f7c There are no temporary fixes for a leak since the refrigerant will be leaked out quickly. It is also illegal to put in fresh refrigerant to a leaking system. Hence before topping up a garage has to do a leak test and then a vacuum check to remove any moisture to prevent internal freezing of the air con system. Quote
mosehva Posted June 1, 2017 Author Posted June 1, 2017 Thanks, I will check the DVD out.. Of course the air-con guy first to vacuum and then add the refrigerant. Quote
mosehva Posted June 1, 2017 Author Posted June 1, 2017 Do you know if I can get a downloaded version instead of DVD? Quote
paul.h Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Have a look at these topics. Beware the files are large and take many hours to download. I use the dvds and use the diagrams on the dvds to save the storage it would need on the computer if the diagrams were also put on. http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23087-i-need-a-manual-for-my-citroen-c8-22-hdi/http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23950-c8-workshop-manual/ Quote
