regbusby123 Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 can any one tell me if you have to do a reset when you fit a new wiper motoras i have just fitted one and its stil not working off sidereg Quote
Rookie2 Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 Hi Did you check F17 in the engine bay fuse box ? Quote
paul.h Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 There is no mention of needing any resets/diagnostics in the Citroen service box procedure for replacing the wiper motor. Did you also check the near side wiper motor, in one of the posts on this it says:-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Morning I'll be honest the auto spark didn't show me a 'ribbon', what he did show me was literally several rectangular strips of aluminium approx the length of a fingernail, that he said had been folded double encompassing the end of connecting wiring, these 'strips' then fed into the bottom of the motor. I would imagine this wiring and the method used to connect them are used to transfer power/ecu messages to the motors themselves. He basically said that when they pulled the motors out they noticed the corrosion on these metal strips/connectors....their fix was to strip them back and attach fresh metal connectors..... Your issues sound like mine, the OS side stopped working first and because they have a separate ECU and designed to work in tandem the NS wouldn't work as a precaution other wise they'd clatter together. ..with this fix in place i haven't had a problem since.... I don't use dealers tbh, this autospark was recommended to me by my regular independent Citroen guy i've used for goin on ten years. Hope u get sorted. Quote

regbusby123 Posted May 11, 2017 Author Posted May 11, 2017 well with great expence i bought a new o/side motor but still not working could it be the nearside motor ????? reg Quote
paul.h Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 I thought you had already replaced the o/s motor. Before getting a new n/s motor, try taking the existing one apart to see if the electrics have suffered due to water ingress. Follow the link in here 43. New C5 (X7) front wipers not working properly. Before replacing one of the 2 wiper motors, it may be possible to do a fix to the motor wiring pins - see this topic from c5vtr http://www.citroen-o...x7-wiper-motor/ Quote
