My 2007 2.2HDI has just started cutting out at low revs -i.e when stopping at junctions, roundabouts etc.I have to keep the revs up using the accelerator pedal when standing as it will stall on tickover. The van runs great otherwise but obviously it can't be driven any distance in its current condition. Another symptom is that if I leave it for a few minutes after cutting out then restart, although it fires up instantly I have difficulty getting the revs up high enough to pull away and have to pump the accelerator quite a bit to get it going. As I've said it runs great at normal driving revs but just fails when the revs drop to idle. Any ideas would be very welcome. Thanks.

Update:  Problem fixed, turned out to be the fuel filter. Fitted a new one (even though I've seen dirtier old ones) and Bob's yer uncle its driving sweet as a nut. Noticed when I washed my hands they remained a bit sticky leading me to believe that the old filter was waxed up so I may have picked up some dodgy diesel at some point.
