Hi

Very few people who remove the DPF actually remove all traces of it, Simply because the testing of the DPF may become a testable item for MOT. Having said that, some people have completely removed the dpf and in those cases, you would have to ring a reputable vehicle spares supplier with your registration and they will give you the info from the datatbase.

If there are still remainders of the DPF system fitted then here's what to look for

- Take a look at the exhaust silencer/ catalytic converter, if it appears to be constructed in two parts, a front small section and a rear longer section joined together by 4 bolts, then yes, it did originally have a DPF.

Look under the floor of the car, put your head below the car at the rear nearside passenger door and look upwards at the floor, if you see a small plastic tank with stainless pipes running from it to the exhaust (though these pipes may have been removed and plugged, then that would indicate a DPF tank.

Ring your local Citroen Dealer with the Registration number and they will tell you instantly. cheers

What engine does the car have ?

I thought the small diameter pipe from the additive tank should go to the fuel tank but there would be small diameter pipes from either end of the dpf going to a differential pressure sensor located somewhere in the engine bay to detect when the dpf was blocking up.

You can also look at the Citroen parts diagrams using your VIN (VIS) to see if it should have a DPF. You can do this as a free service if you register on the service.citroen site as an other professional non emergency services and as a member of the Citroen Owners Club. Once on the site then put your VIN top left to find your car and then look under Characteristics in the left column to see what your car had when built. You can also look under the parts under Mechanical to find the exhaust components. http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres you may need to select your language bottom right and then click on Registration top right.
