robpace333 Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Driving home from work last night and Orange Engine Management Light came on and lost power . It feels as though the Turbo isnt working . It got me home with Engine running fine and still does 65 - 70 mph but takes ages to get there ! Turned it off when i got home and restarted hoping the Orange Light would go out , but it didnt and will only let me rev to just over 2500 RPM , but still runs OK .Any ideas ?Thanks in advanceRob Quote
paul.h Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 You need to use a code reader to find out what is wrong since it could be anything that can affect the running of the engine and the emissions. The lack of power will be because the car has been put in limp mode due to the fault. Without reading the code you could have a look for anything obvious such as a loose electrical connector or pipe. Do not start replacing parts hoping to guess the right one since this can prove expensive. A code reader costs less than a diagnostic and one that gives some live data is more useful. As an example http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_FXNT200.html . However since your car is a diesel pre 2004, not all code readers will work on it so you need to check this before buying one. Quote
