PeterWM Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 I added a reply to a thread about door mirrors, but would like to throw this out more generally - I have a 12 plate C5 tourer, and between 40 & 60mph, dependent upon weather conditions the door mirrors on both sides generate a high pitched whistle - this goes away if the mirrors are folded in, Does anyone else have a similar experience? paul.h Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Welcome to the forum. So all replies are in one place I have deleted your similar topic and moved this in to a sub forum so it does not disappear after a few days. This is from the C5 Technical section Common problems pinned topic but if this is not a fix in your case then you could try taping over the various gaps around the mirrors to see if the noise changes. 46. New C5 (X7) wind whistle noise. Thanks to seanodwyer for this fix, apparently a common problem and there have been posts about this before but no fix reported until now http://www.citroen-o...whistle-solved/ Quote
PeterWM Posted July 24, 2017 Author Posted July 24, 2017 COC Wind noise survey.pdfI am conducting a mini survey relating specifically to my earlier post about door mirror wind noise - if anyone feels able to complete this I would be very much obliged. I am not looking to collect any information which could identify an individual, neither do I intend to involve respondents in anything beyond filling out the form. Thanks in advance for any replies. paul.h Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Maybe it helps if the survey is filled in as replies so I have copied the attachment below which may be easier. For the name I suggest to use your forum name and the town is optional. The easiest way to reply is to click on Quote at the bottom right of this post and then fill in the answers.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Wind noise from door mirrorsDescription: At speeds between 40 and 60 mph, and dependent upon weather conditions, a high pitched whistle is generated by the door mirrors on both sides of the car.
