Emwol2 Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Hi, nothing on my instrument panel is working on my c5 (2004). Just stopped completely earlier - car still runs fine but can't drive it now as don't know what speed I'm doing or what fuel I've got left etc! Can anyone help? I've checked the fuses in the glovebox - all ok Quote
Emwol2 Posted August 25, 2017 Author Posted August 25, 2017 Just to update, I've got the power back to the unit. Took the instrument panel out and the plug was loose. Speed and revs still not working though :( anyone have any ideas? Quote
paul.h Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 If you have a code reader with live data, you could plug it in and see what speed/rpm the car is giving. If you then have values for these on the reader, it suggests the problem is with the instrument panel/wiring/connector and not elsewhere. If you turn the ignition key so the dash lights up do the speedo/rev counter needles flicker which is normal ? It is a common fault for the needles to come loose, I had this and glued the speedo needle back on. This is from the C5 Common Problems pinned topic19. Speedometer stops working. The motor at the back of the speedo can be replaced to fix this - see http://www.citroen-o...ometer-repairs/ Quote
Emwol2 Posted August 26, 2017 Author Posted August 26, 2017 Hi thanks for your reply, the needles don't move at all when I turn the ignition or rev the engine.. Quote
paul.h Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Without the code reader checks, maybe you could check the connector again and see if all the pins are ok. Quote
Emwol2 Posted August 27, 2017 Author Posted August 27, 2017 Thanks. The speedometer is working again now. Rev needle won't work. Is it the same/similar part to sort that out? Many thanks Quote
paul.h Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 I think the speedo and rev meter both use the same motor. Did you do anything to get the speedo working ? Quote
