Glynnpt Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 I took my C8 into the main dealer as the Diesel Additive warning light came up. They tell me that Citroen are not stocking it any more. They think that Citroen are trying to source it from somewhere else. They did say that although my car is old, there are a lot of newer cars that will require the stuff at some time. Has anyone heard about this. It appears to have happened only recently as the garage say they have obtained some for a customer recently.I would be interested to know if anyone has a reliable source for the additive Quote
paul.h Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 What is the RPO number for your car ? This will help find which additive it uses, plus if you know the colour of the eolys tank connectors that will help. The RPO can be found on the door pillar tyre pressure sticker. Quote
Glynnpt Posted September 8, 2018 Author Posted September 8, 2018 thanks for your reply. At the moment the car is in the garage, so I haven't got access to it. I just find it hard to believe the garage can't source a supply of the fluid. They stated they don't like to buy from a motor factor. I also took the car in because of a noise in the engine. They diagnosed a pulley wheel starting to break up, which is why they suggested leaving it with them. Quote
paul.h Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 The RPO is just a way of giving the date of manufacture so the registration date will do. The RPO is also written on the inside cover of the Warranty and Maintenance service book. https://bartebben.com/map/citroen-peugeot-rp-dam-orga-number.html If it is the crankshaft pulley the rubber inserts can break up and give a rattling noise, sometimes mistaken for tappet wear.
