Ab81
Hi all I have got a citroen relay 2005 had it about 9yrs never really used it but now I want to mot it and possibly sell it to someone that will use and appreciate it. In the time I have had it never had anything wrong with it put for some reason since its been parked up for about 3yrs I've started i, but for some reason the windows will not work. Now I've done the obvious like checking fuses I've also brought second hand switches and still nothing. I've taken the door card off and taken the plug off for the motor and put 12v direct to it and the window will go up and down but when I reconnect it nothing happens. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated thank you
paul.h
Use a cheap volt meter to see if you are getting 12 volts at the motor when the switch is used. If not then check further back since the wires can break at the door pillar. Initially I was thinking the window and its seal might need cleaning since a dirt build up can put resistance against a window so it might not open so if not done, also do a bit of cleaning. By providing a 12 volt supply direct to the motor probably by-passes the window anti pinch letting it work if there is a dirt build up.
