mark_lar Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Right, start the car, turn off the child lock, (if it's on, on the dash) Hold down the lock button on the dash for a few seconds. You should here a bong noise. Next time you drive off, the doors will lock after you go above 5mph or so. Amazing what you can discover if you lean on the dashboard by accident! Oh yeah, repeating the process turns the auto locking off again. Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Funny enough I used to have it activated for a awhile but it was getting on my mothers nerves.lol I would take her down town then I would Drive around untill she finshed in the shops then when I go to pick her up she would have bags of shopping and she couldn't open any of the doors. So I deactivated it. Quote
potter Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I can't think of a better reason than to keep the mother in law out of my car.. does the same trick work in a renault clio? potter Quote
mark_lar Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 Maybe but i'm only 15 so i don't have a huge access for cars as you do. Give it a try and tell us what happens! Quote

stimulator Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 This is one of the best auto functions on a car. It ensures that when you are driving you can not be highjcked by the oppertune door opener in the street. You may also be interested in trhe action of the blipper. When you lock the doors with the blipper the first press of it will lock all the doors and the boot. However that is a deadlock condition and anyone in the car trying to get out will not be able to as all the door handles are disabled. the second blip locks the doors but removes the deadlock function and now those in the car can get out even the mother in law. The outside handles are however still disabled. in the event of acrash an inertia switch unlocks all the doors sop that rescue crews can get you and the mother in law OUT. Quote
paul.h Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Does the auto locking work on all C3s ? We have a 2003 1.4SX and I can not get it to work. Holding the dash lock button down just does one lock or unlock. Have tried with/without the engine running and the ignition key in the different positions. Quote
arrows Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 No, it does not work on older C3s (03 and before) mine being one of them. Quote
