BINGHAMIMP Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 I have a similar problem to that of domestic goddess (see March 2007) in that the Trafficmaster woman is most insistent that I renew my licence even though I don't wish to since I have a perfectly good Road Atlas. I looked at domestic goddess's thread but that didn't really say what you have to do, nor whether the disabling was successful. Can KFK or A N Other reply to this post and clue me in? Thanks, The Binghamimp. Quote
citroeneddie Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 I didn't renew the Trafficmaster for a second time and the lady eventually stopped after about a week. If you press the button after it will tell you your Licence no and Tel no to renew. I'd had it on manual for the last few months as it got on my t**s. Quote
Randombloke Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 There are two solutions to the Traffic master problem - 1. Press the button twice. The unit should then say manual mode, and will shut up. It will only then flash the dashboard light when it gets updates, which it won't, as the sub has run out. 2. Swap the ECU that interfaces TM with the car with one that doesn't work properly, like mine. You will get no TM. What sort of vehicle have you got? ;) Quote

I'll post again if I get another peep out of her. BINGHAMIMP Quote

Alix776 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I've unplugged mine but now the stereo (aftermarket) won't play sound. Anyone any idea mk1 on a 51 plate Quote
Randombloke Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Plug it back in. Then either adjust the volume down to nothing or select manual mode. Quote
myglaren Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 There is a way to disable the trafficmaster box - find the +ve supply and disconnect. If you remove it altogether it will disrupt the stereo as the feed is through the trafficmaster box so trafficmaster can mute the audio while it nags you.A three-second push of the button will shut it up more-or-less permanently.Mine never troubles me except for on one occasion when I managed to stall the engine and when I have restarted the engine a few seconds after turning it off. As trafficmaster is now defunct there is no reason to have it running. Quote
coastline taxis Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Myglaren good to see your still visiting the site. Quote
