Tug Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Can anyone help regarding adjusting the headlamps for use on the European mainland, there appears to be no menton of how to do this in the handbook. I have heard that deflectors stuck to the lens should not be used on xenon lamps. Don't want to pay Citroen twice to adjust and reset again. Quote
Johndouglas Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 If your C5 has Xenon lights then you don't need to do anything. I have driven thousands of miles overnight in mine and have rarely been flashed by oncoming HGV's. Now my previous Xantia was a different matter!!! Quote

How do you stand if French plod pull you over and ask why your car is not fitted with the necessary converters? IIRC they are on the list of mandatory things required, even if you are not driving at night. I bought the aftermarket headlight protectors and they come with converters. I already have beam converters on the lenses anyway. Quote

I already have beam converters on the lenses anyway. When I first got the car I emailed Citroen UK to ask about the position of any beam benders. A guy from their technical department phoned me and told me that they were not required. He explained that if you look at the light beam on the road, the top of the beam is flat, without any 'kickup' to the lefthand side. Quote
Johndouglas Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Certain items are mandatory for European touring ie:- yellow hi-viz vests in some countries, reflective triangle - 2 in Spain. Quote
