kenw Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 I have a dangerous problem with my 2002 C5 estate. The tailgate opens when you press the remote. It also opens when either front door is opened. The worst part is it sometimes opens when driving. I can't keep anything in the loadspace in case it opens at speed, for obvious reasons. I dont know if it's connected, but it probably is, but the rear nearside door is locked and will not unlock, and the same with the tailgate window. Any ideas please???? Quote

Problem solved, info for others: The tailgate release button wasn't releasing properly, it was stuck half in. Pretty obvious really. Quote

From then on the central door locking has not worked properly AND the fault is not consistent. The drivers side rear door lock will not operate at all. I would check the switch for moisture in the rear boot window as a first step. Keep me posted!pS every time a door is operated the rear screen wiper activates!!!! Quote
paul.h Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 every time a door is operated the rear screen wiper activates!!!! This probably means the locking system is either providing an earth or a supply to the wiper motor. Either way, if the locking wiring is not the same amp rating it may burn out. Something to sort out. Quote
