I have recently had a 1.6 HDI which is 20 months old and has done 4700 miles. I bought it from the Citroen deales that I have used for a number of years. The car was their demonstrator.

I noticed that the pre heat warning light does not come on when I turn on the ignition. When I asked about this I was told that with the modern engines this would only come on in extreme cold conditions. I would be interested to hear if anyone has any experience/views on this.

This sounds about right. On our Picasso 2.0 hdi I have never noticed the glow plug light and on our C5 2.2 hdi this time of year if you blink you miss it.
