Guest stanwellback Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 :( Hi,I have a 1800 petrol C5 and I am pretty sure that the clutch thrust bearing is on it's last legs.[ It squeels like a stuck pig! ]. This being the case, it won't be long before there is a loud bang and no clutch.Does anybody know the cheapest place to buy a new clutch assembly? Also bearing in mind that there is no workshop manual available, is there any way that this is a DIY job or is it best left to the experts? All advice greatly appreciated Quote

Thanks for the info.My French is non exsistent so I will have to find a mechanic.I live in Maidstone Kent and if anyone knows of a repairer local to me I would appreciate their details.Cheers Quote
Johndouglas Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Do you know whether your petrol C5 has a similar clutch assembly to the diesels. They have a dual mass flywheel which makes for an expensive replacement job. If you do have a DM flywheel, it's possible to get a conversion kit which uses a conventional flywheel. Quote

Serious?!?! So do I, I have the manual. I would talk to either Mid Kent Vehicle Services, 01622 794499, in New Hythe, near the Tescos in Larkfield. otherwise, Medway Citroen 01634 849609. I have used them both and would recommend them both highly. Quote
