Do you have to top up the diesel additive each time it has its 10,000 mile service? or do you wait until it comes up on the display??

What diesel additive? AND, aren't the services at 12000mile intervals?

HI when you start your C5 it comes up with the little spanner on your milage screen. Mine now reads 10.000 miles until next service, as I have just had it done. I read some where that you need diesel additive. When you fill up with diesel this liquid is realeased into your tank and mixes with the diesel, I was just wondering did it need to be done on the 10,000 mile service or do I wait until it displays?

Depending upon the age of your C5 - around either 75K or 100K - a message will come on the screen saying that the fluid needs topping up and also the particle filter needs cleaning/changing. Until then, no worries about it.

Agreed, unless your C5 is a 2.2 HDi built between 2001 and 2004, in which case it's 50k miles. These were the only Mk1's with particle filters and diesel additive iirc. I got the particle filter changed before I bought mine and had the fluid checked at 52k - the tank was around 2/3 full. Worth getting it checked - some cars will allow the garage to clean filter, top up fluid and re-set ecu. Others won't which can mean a hefty repair bill.
