My 2005 1.4HDi Desire has a mind of its own - literally.

A month or so ago I spent two hours on a petrol station forecourt. The power steering had failed. The AA told me that the speed sensor was faulty and that there was an ABS-related error. I nursed the car back to my local garage (not Citroen) who plugged it in, reset the 'computer' and all was good.

Then recently the rear windscreen wiper has been uncontrollable. I no longer have an intermittent setting. When activated it continues (with double clicking noises from the dash) and stops randomly, usually in the centre of the screen. Sometimes it activates after unlocking the car with the remote. And occasionally I have to turn the car off completely and just let it stop on its own.

While the rear wiper is irritating, I can live without it. But the other day I had warning bleeps upon starting. I did the ignition on/off three times trick and it was fine. But I get the feeling that all these electrical issues are one day going to combine which sounds expensive.

Its due a service and I'm going to get Citroen to do a diagnostic.

Advice, similar experiences anyone??

Is the car still under warranty? If it is then Citroen should sort all these issues out under that. If the warranty has only just expired, then at the very least I'd expect Citroen to contribute towards the costs, or cover them all as goodwill depending on how long ago the warranty expired.

The rear wiper sounds like it might be a relay issue if you can hear repeated clicking.

Our 2003 1.4 sx petrol gives warning bleeps on starting if the fuel tank level is low - no messages to tell you what it is though so took some time before I realised what it was.
