andy_brum Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Help .My electric window has stoped working. After examination i find that the drive cable has snapped.I understand that this is a common fault. Can the cable be changed, if so were can I get a new cable and fitting instructions? Quote
1960darrenh Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 I have exactly the same problem on my Xantia 1.8sxi 16v 1998. Would be grateful for any help also. How much is the repair work likely to be with a Citroen Dealer ?!? Quote
kfk Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 no you cant get the cable separately it appears to come complete with the motor assembly Quote
rickhough Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Also the plastic block that the cables hook into (slides up and down the regulator) crack and the cables pull out. I managed to repair mine with cable ties as a temporary repair. I haven't found a new block yet but Citroen kindly offered to sell me a complete regulator assembly for £200 plus VAT. Although tempted by this genrous offer I decided I will wait and see what comes out of the scrappies. That plastic block must only cost ten pence to make! Removing the assembly and repairing it is pretty simple stuff for a competent DIYer, or, you can swear at it and smash your knuckles to bits for half an hour if you are incompetent like me. Quote
DickieG Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Click onto http://www.aepdirect.com/citroen-part.aspx or http://www.gsfcarparts.com/ to get a new regulator assembly somewhat cheaper than £200. Quote
