Hi guys,

I have a 2002 C5 which squeaks like mad when the car is in motion.

Even when standing still and the suspension settles it squeaks like mad or when I lock the car and it 'settles'

Anyone have any idea how to sort it out. The garages that I have spoken to say it's a problem with 'citroen' cars in general....but this is ridiculous. You can hear the car coming for miles

thanks in advance

mucky.

To try and pin point the source I would get somebody to sit in the car and raise and lower the suspension whilst I went round the car listening (do not go under the car though to avoid being squashed unless using ramps or a pit). This squeaking is not normal - at least for our C5. Possible causes could include a rubber bush that needs replacing (try something like WD40 spray to check) a pivot bearing in the rear suspension arm, rust on the outside of the suspension 'shock absorbers' rubbing against the gaiters, front suspension arm ball joint, rear suspension 'shock absorbers' where they push against the rear arms.
