Guest diamond Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 How do you remove a rear brake drum on the C3 (54 plate 1.4 HDI) The rear nearside brake is binding and I can't see an obvious way of removing the drum to check the brake shoes. Quote
stimulator Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 To remove the rear brake drum you have to undo the large central nut on the hub. Once that is removed you pull off the drum. Quote
paul.h Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 To get to the large nut you first have to knock off the thin metal cover in the middle of the drum with a hammer and screwdriver. It will get damaged and need replacing, as well as the large nut since this is peened to the hub axle. Quote
