Guest Mr Mark Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Hi I have a 53 plate (Dec 03) C5 HDI VTR 2.0 110 bhp. Basically I am wanting to know if I was lucky enough to buy the version without the "expensive to maintain" particle filter. I have a problem with very poor acceleration at the moment and read that it could point to the particle filter but have had no error codes or messages. I know there could be many reasons for this problem but wanted to rule out the PAF first. Regards Quote
davidad Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 I'm pretty certain that the 2.0 110bhp hdi doesn't have the filter. The later 2.0 136bhp does. Quote

Hi all, I'm new to the C5 forum, so apologies in advance if I am revisiting old topics. Basically I am asking the same question as Mr Mark. I have a 54 plate (July 04) C5 HDI VTR 2.0 110 bhp estate and also would like to work out for sure if I have a particulate filter fitted, as it would be very good news to me if it doesn't! Where do I look on the vehicle for the filter/Eolys tank, or can the necessary information be given via the VIN? Any information that can be given would be much appreciated Quote

Randombloke Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 .....now i can understand owning one XM......but 2 :o An XM is like a dog - not just for Xmas but for life. However, having been fortunate enough to borrow a number of XMs from Philippe Noë at Medway Citroën, I appreciate them. I always wanted a 2.5 TD Exclusive Estate, but could never, ever find one at the right price or in a sensible condition. I'd still consider buying one to replace sh*te old 406 when it dies (145k, so not far off, as it's powered by a 2.1TD, of the XUD variety, and will eventually blow the cylinder head gasket, like ALL XUD engines) but think that 8 years after the last ones were made, finding a good one is looking for rocking horse sh*t. So, who is lucky enough to have a 2.5 estate with air con and cruise control? Quote
Johngartyuk Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 .....now i can understand owning one XM......but 2 :o The petrol XM was horrible, but I really loved the estate. It was so huge that I was able to transport 5 of us mountain bikers plus kit (lots!) plus bikes on roof/on towball mounted carrier all over the UK. The Xantias had nowhere near the capacity or comfort of this great car. The good news is that the C5 seems at least as big, so with the improved fuel economy I'm looking forward to more big trips with a full complement, as it was a bit sub-economical transporting only 3 of us in the Xants. So, who is lucky enough to have a 2.5 estate with air con and cruise control? I've always fancied a CX turbo diesel as a classic car! There's a specialist somewhere near Huntingdon I think who specialises in these. Saw some at a Citroen Owners Club show 2 years ago. Or how about a nice DS 23 EFi Pallas??!! (If you've got £10k to spare and a deep maintenance wallet............ Quote
