Problematic and i have searched the forum for similar without success. I have a 2001 2.0 Hdi sx that cuts out on low revs but will restart after approx 30 secs. The display reads anti pollution fault and illuminates the engine management light. The garage said the fault code reffered to low fuel rail pressure and replaced the fuel rail regulator valve but unfortunately the fault still persists.

At high revs the engine will run but on reduced power. No other fault codes are recorded. Any ideas?

When the engine fault light comes on the car is going into limp home mode to stop aymore damage been done to the engine. was the garage a citroen dealer or independant or was it the first garage you come across that you took it to.

the code would be nice so I don't have to guess but I will anyway, P0506 idle speed control (ISC) system- RPM lower than expected and could be the throttle body needs a clean out the code has a few meanings but in this case I would use "throttle valve tight/sticking" as the most common because of the way the emissions are on these cars and the pipe that feeds the unused gasses from the engine back into the throttle body and that's where the excess oil builds up,

anti pollution fault and illuminates the engine management light that would be expected because the engine was about to shut off with the ignition key still on and the low RPM would set the code
