Guest kentzsaraman Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Hi I have a problem with the power steering on a 2002 Zsara saloon. It feels very heavy and I have to put alot of effort into turning, looked at powersteering fluid levels and there fine and the pump seems to work (or I wouln't be able to steer!)..I have notice the rear suspension bounces up and down alot before it settles...feels like its dragging its behind around. Has anyone else noticed how littel oil a 1.4 Zsara seems to use? Ant :D Quote
techbod Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 bouncy suspension means the shock absorbers are shot on the back, power steering could be it needs new fluid or the pump is on its way out Quote
Jonno Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Hi ............and the pump seems to work (or I wouln't be able to steer!)............ Has anyone else noticed how littel oil a 1.4 Zsara seems to use? Ant :D Shouldn't use any power steering oil - it recirculates. And you would be able to steer if the pump didn't work - it has to for safety reasons. If the steering is that heavy it is either the pump or the steering rack that could be the problem. Quote
kfk Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 how heavy is heavy?....have you compared with another vehicle of the same type or have you had it long enough to see a change in how it operates? Have you checked the tyre pressures? Quote
