I just had my C5 out on its 1st night run and have a little issue with the lights .... every now and then they dip or blink almost as if they were not getting enough power.

Has anyone else had or seem this? Is it normal? As I seem to remember our C5 2.0Petrol did something like this but that was a few years ago now

Also on our last C5 the dash light used to go off just leaving the Speedo lit was this only an option on some models as our 2.0hdi LX doesn’t do it

Thanks

Jay

Hi is that your other listing about radio going off if it id would maybe put the 2 problems together and start by checking all the wiring plugs and the earth leads then battery and alternator output.

The flickering lights are normal . It takes a bit of getting used to and is the price we pay for that wonderfull suspension. When the suspension requires the electic hydralic pump to activate this causes a slight dip in the power supply , this is only noticed when the lights are on .

I have a night driving switch on the dash of my 2.0 hdi . this switches all lighting bar the speedo off , a function that I never use.

I wouldn't have thought it was normal for the lights to flicker like that as the power is regulated to cope with that, the dimmer switch is a good place to start and spray the connector with dielectric spray ( maplin stuff used for computer boards) to clean the connection's up
