kfk Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 If someone has tried to break into it your not going to get it under warranty......i doubt very much that the ram has caused it to fail.....however, it is likely that it has been caught by a stone and shattered. Citroens policy against glass is such that a manufacturing defect would have to be proven.....i would suggest that it would be best to present it to your insurance companies preffered glass repairer who should be able to handle a claim for you. techbod Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 never heard of that one before but im sure Citroen will know and if your insured fully comp it will cover it apart from the excess which is usually £60 unless otherwise stated on the policy and doesn't effect the no claims Quote
ColinC1 Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Its usually only the front windscreen that is covered at £60, unless you take on an all glass coverage policy which is more expensive. Also some people have been caught out with these wrapover panoramic windscreens that go up over the top of the winscreen, as they are not covered, unless added to the policy. My last car a Smart Fortwo had a glass roof, and it was well known for a stone chip to fly over and onto the roof and shatter them into thousands of pieces, to a great fright for the occupants while driving. The cost was high to replace them as they were bonded into place. never happed to me, thank goodness. Quote
TurboSlag Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 It's the first time i've heard of it on the C1/107. Check your insurance as some policies give free/cheap windscreen replacement only, and some do full glass cover to the same level. Quote
