Hi,

 

I have a M reg ZX Diesel and when I turn the engine off from hot the fan does not turn off and drains the battery, anybody know how to fix this please.

any work been done on the cooling system? have the wires been joined to make it run all the time because the temp sensor wasn't working? or simply a wiring fault and the fan is live all the time

Its only just started doing it, I have cut the wire that feeds it for now so it does not come on at all.

Im not driving it at the moment since I cut the wire, could you tell me where the switch and sensor are please?

coolant temp sensor will be near the thermostat housing along with the fan switch but the switch could be on the radiator on the older cars, better to wire it up to a switched live so it only comes on then the ignition is on

Hi,

 

Check the following site (it's for PUG306, but it should be the same cooling system (assuming you have original A/C).

I suspect it's the faulty one (the box is made by Italian Bitron, located either behind the glovebox (or, if no glovebox, under the plastic cover), or else - under the front driver's wing.
