Guest Dervman Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Hi, When I open the boot after the car has been parked in the rain, water pours 'out' of the boot lid into the boot. It appears to be where the kink is, at the bottom of the windscreen. If I don't open the boot, and drive away, the water obvioously drains away and I don't have an issue. Is there a blockage, or seal issue? I've taken a look and there are rubbers either side of the boot lid, but they do look ok. Any help gratefully received. TIA. Quote
paul.h Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 My car is the same, mostly running out of the left side, I think it is a design feature. I sealed the plastic strip at its back edge across the boot which seemed to reduce the amount of water getting in but has not stopped it. I have noticed the mark 2 C5 plastic strip already fills this gap so maybe it has been designed out. I am not sure how the water gets in but suspect the rubber seal around the top half of the door ends just above the side holes where the water comes out and actually lets the water run in - if it was extended beyond these holes the problem may go. I am reluctant to seal these holes in case water is retained and causes corrosion but may try to extend the channel on the seal. Quote

Open the boot, and water just pours out, thing is, it's once you're about shoulder height with the lift, so the water has quite a drop. I'll take a look at the holes you mention, maybe creating a channel with silicone rather than sealing them will help. Quote
