Creaking Electrics And Wayward Hazard Flashers

I have had my C3 1.6 sensodrive exclusive (2006 model) for about 6 weeks now. Its a nice little car, but has some strange habits!

When anything electrical is working ie. switching ignition on or off or just when driving along there is a creaking noise coming from the front left hand side of the engine compartment which sometimes gets so loud that it reminds me of an old sailing shi[p with very noisy riggings in a high wind. Its definately not the springs, and is directly related to electrical equipment.

The other problem (dont know if its related) is that the hazard lights will come on by themselves and cannot be switched off, except by opening the bonnet! The switch in the car will have no effect, but if you use the indicators you can overide the hazrds (ie. you are still flashing, but now only one way.

I was worried about Citroen electrics, and that has always put me off buying one before. I could do with some reassurance that these cars are not as unreliable as their reputation. I hope they aren't because I really like the car.

Any observations/assistance would be very much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

First I would check if the battery connectors are fastened on tight, if loose they may be sparking and giving the noise.

The hazard light switch may be faulty. I thought I had seen something similar to this on the forum recently but could not find it on a search, hopefully somebody will come along with a solution.
