HI all

can anyone offer any advice or comments please

i purchased one of the last of the previous c5 in feb this year i have now done 4000 miles and am having some problems

between 1500-2000 revs the car seems to 'kangaroo' ie change speed

the rev counter moves a lot even though the accelator is constant

if i accelerate over 30 its goes away

seems to be when in 3rd or 4th gear or during the changing

cheers jh

Take it that the car is up to date on its service. does the car rev alright when in nuetral and have you had any auto transmission fault appear on the display. I take it that when you say it changes speed the car feels like it has changed down a gear

hi thanks for the reply the car has only done 4500 miles from new so no new service due as yet

the problem happens below 30mph and its like i am moving the acelerator also erratic gear changes in low speeds

no error messages on the display

Cheers

My money would be on the throttle control or the cable from the throttle pedal to it - I bet it is dirty tracks.

Is it "hunting " between gears ? Look at the gear position display to see if it's changing up and down

Or try selecting the gears manually and see if it still happens

hi thanks for the reply - the car got worse to drive contstantly "coughing" while driving and changing revs

dealer had it in 2 weeks ago advised me it was a faulty exhasut gas release valve

waited 2 weeks for part but they had problems fitting

after 2 days with them they tell me it needed a software upgrade as well but the ECU wouldnt accept it so now a new ECU is on order with citroen

sounds an expensive problem - hope it resolves the issue as i ve only done 5100 miles since new!

anyone else had similar issues?

have a courtesy car for now
