Guest benefitof Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 My Berlingo is being a pain when cold - takes ages to start - batteries good & new glow plugs but you have to keep the key turning it for ages - when it does eventually go, it smokes a fair bit - any ideas, thanx Quote
techbod Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 check for diesel leaks if air is getting into the system that's the result Quote
Johndouglas Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Before your first start of the day, get under the bonnet and squeeze the primer bulb until it becomes solid. Then have a go at starting. If it goes, the indications are that you have air leaking into the system. You won't necessarily see fuel leaking out. Check all the joints, including the banjos. Copper washers have been known to allow air in. Quote
