Guest vin Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 i know this has been posted b4 but my problem has a few intresting tweaks to it here we go when i bought the car the windscreen washer was not working hell the stalk was not working at all neither did the pump work nor did the wiper give the cursary 3 wipes. well my baffled indy mech sorted that out by connecting the washer pump which infact had no prob to the black traffic master button. so now i have got to press the traffic master button and then run the wipers which works fine from the stalk. well that was until tday morn. i had let the washer tank run dry and and pressed the wash button to no awail duh... anyway i topped it up with anytifreeze and tried again to no awail but then the prob gets worse. now i dont even get that wizzing sound that accompanies the pump. all fuses checked all ok well the break down 1) washer pump not working 2) no water no sound3) washer fluid previously empty 4) now full of the blue elixir3) fuses checked all ok5) no joy what else to check... how to reach the washer pump .... step by step guidance would be needed and would i have to change the washer pump Quote

techbod Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 ^^ good advice and use a multimeter with a bleep test that way you get an audible sound if the fuse is ok Quote
Guest vin Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 ^^ good advice and use a multimeter with a bleep test that way you get an audible sound if the fuse is ok i dont have access to a multi meter nevertheless i have got a new fuse in place still no joy what next .... Quote
techbod Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 halford/maplin sell them and very cheap, the problem with these fuses are you cant see any defects apart from the obvious and the bleep test takes that away so if its ok then it bleeps Quote

donkey Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 My washer pump has been playing up for a while. It kept blowing fuses and finally gave up a couple of days before the MOT was booked (not blowing the fuse this time, just not working). As I had no time to look at it properly before the MOT I just left it with them and got them to sort it - apparently it was a pig of a job to replace and they had to re-route some of the wiring??
