Guest vin Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 this is something that has been covered in quite a few posts but just wanted to clarify something. today i opened up the air filter and removed the battery just as i had some time on my hand and i was bored. found that the engine management light had disappeared after doing that. took the car around for a spin was delighted with the way she responded. sadly it dint last long as soon as i got onto the motorway and touched 80 beep the light comes back on with the dashboard saying anti pollution fault which i know means nothing as it could mean anything. well when i got the response from the engine ie without the limiter there was a distinct wine or shall i say it felt as though the engine was wheezing as i reached around 3000 odd rpm on each gear. is that the turbo asking for some attention... or something else.... also has anyone of u guys dug a bit further into http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citro...amp;#entry34587 the limp home quick fix. i had a look see under my c5 ecu and lo there happened to be 2 yellow wires with green lines.... has anyone had any luck with the numbers... seefive Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 also has anyone of u guys dug a bit further into http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citro...amp;#entry34587 the limp home quick fix. i had a look see under my c5 ecu and lo there happened to be 2 yellow wires with green lines.... has anyone had any luck with the numbers... Very keen to fid this out myself - I've been posting similar questions recently. I'm happy to risk engine damage to break free of the yellow light tyranny! The way I look at it - none of my previous cars have had engine management lights and limp home mode, and I never suffered any problems. This system creates more problems than it prevents. Anyone with a shiny new Haynes manual out there can give us a steer ? Where should I wield the scissors?( I'm not at all technical, so will need an idiots guide to finding the wire and doing the deed)Thanks in advance Quote
techbod Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 ive been checking out the ECU pin out data and the berlingo plus others use the same ECU and the wiring is the same, the only wires from the ECU which are the same are from pin 82 which should have two wires which are numbered 1182 and go to the engine warning light,as KFK says caution is the way doing this so better find out what the problem is? one thing to check is the third piston cut off solenoid which should only have battery voltage for 2 seconds when engine running Quote
