C5 Locking

Hi I have 2001 C5. Very occasionally the remote locking wouldn't unlock thet drivers door and you had to put the key in then it got worse and worse. Then all of a sudden the problem cleared itself up. Great I thought then in the last couple of dys it's started again except that when I out the key in teh lock just turn round and round and round. Theres no sign of anyone tampering with it and after a couple fo attempts it still unlocks with the remote. Before I take the door to bits has anyone got any ideas?

Possibilities may include the remote battery needing replacement - try the spare remote, or possibly interference from a mobile phone mast/mobile phone in use nearby - a few times we have had all our cars at the same time not responding to the remotes at the same time outside our house and then later being ok. This has also happened in car parks.

if you use the key, push key in then push a little more & turn otherwise as you say the key just turns
