Lazzer R1 Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Hi Guys, Recently My 2001 C5 Estate 110 makes a terribly loud clicking noise. Its worst when first starting up. It drives fine and everything works without a problem. I suspected that it was something to do with the Suspension, but i noticed that the clicking got louder and faster when anything electrical was turned on (Aircon, Lights, Blowers etc). Any ideas? :  Thanks, Laz Quote
paul.h Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Where abouts do you think the noise is coming from - inside/outside/dash areas/car moving or stationary ? Quote
GreenBlood Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 If the noise is coming from under the bonnet, check accessory belt, crankshaft pulley, alternator pulley... CheersChris Quote
iannez Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 you need to get the timing belt checked asap. where the timing belt runs against the inside of the bottom pully can become sharp and cut into the timing belt leaving loose strands that whip against the inside of the timing covers causing a clicking sound.
